What is Remote Deposit?

Using a small check scanner, businesses can now scan incoming checks in the convenience of their own office and transmit deposits electronically to their bank. This revolutionary way of processing checks, called remote deposit capture or merchant capture, is possible thanks to Check 21, a federal law that allows banks to process checks using digital images rather than paper.

RP Solutions offers two remote deposit software solutions:  RD Express™ and AR Express^®.  RD Express is a great web-based solution for businesses that simply want to scan their incoming checks and clear them via our payment gateway.  AR Express features additional remittance functionality by processing coupons and full page invoices and posting payments to an in-house accounts receivable system.  It clears checks through our payment gateway or prepares ICL files for transmission to a preferred bank.
